The NRA Personal Protection Inside and Outside the home courses are two higher level training classes that teach students the skills of defending themselves with a firearm within their homes, and outside of their homes in a concealed carry situations. As pre-requisites to these courses, students must have completed the NRA basic pistol course, F.I.R.S.T Steps course, or equivalent firearms experience that includes, consistent and unwavering muzzle control, ability to load, cock, decock, and unload your own pistol, and be able to place 10 rounds into a 9" circle at 15 feet.
The NRA Personal Protection Inside the Home course- $200
Class will cover the "winning attitude-commitment to prevail" in a home defense situation, the physical and mental aspects of a life threatning encounter, PA law as it relates to personal protection in your home (conducted by a Law Enforcement Officer certified to teach the law), proper use of the firearm as a tool of last resort, defensive accuracy and reloading, use of cover, safe room preperations, and making your home less vulnerable.
Personal Protection Outside of the Home course (basic)- $225
This will be the 9 hour BASIC program-
This course builds upon the Personal Protection Inside the home, as we now move into society and move about our daily activities in Concealed Carry Mode. As well as a review of the mental, physiological, physical, and emotional effects of an armed encounter, we teach situational awareness and conflict avoidance, what to do when escape is not an option, the legal, social, emotional, and civil aftermath, PA law relating to concealed carry and defense (taught by a certified Law Enforcement instructor), the DRAW FORM CONCEALMENT, defensive accuracy, moving to and use of cover/concealment, reload techniques, malfunction drills, ammunition, gun and carry mode options, and much more.
Personal Protection Outside of the Home (advanced)- $180
The advanced Protection Outside of the Home Course involves more range time, and application of the shooting the shooting techniques covered, and concealed carry method. This will involve shooting from concealment/cover, movement, advanced draw, side target acquisition, reload drills, and failure drills. An additional 200 rounds of ammunition will be needed.
